Why should you service your KuKirin G2 Master after 1,000 km?
The KuKirin G2 Master is one of the most popular electric scooters among Riders thanks to its dual 1,000W motors, 52V 20.8Ah battery, and excellent all-around performance. Whether you use it for daily commuting or weekend adventures, it’s built to cover thousands of kilometers.
After the first 1,000 km (620 miles), several components naturally begin to wear. Performing a complete inspection helps preserve the scooter’s original performance, improves your safety, and prevents more expensive repairs later on.
Here’s everything you should check during your KuKirin G2 Master 1,000 km maintenance.
Inspect the KuKirin G2 Master brake pads
The KuKirin G2 Master brake pads are among the most frequently worn components of the braking system. They create friction against the brake discs to slow the scooter safely.
Over time, the friction material gradually wears down. Worn brake pads significantly reduce braking performance and increase stopping distances.
Common signs of worn brake pads include:
- reduced braking power;
- brake lever requiring more force;
- squealing or metallic noises;
- very thin or completely worn friction material.
We recommend inspecting the brake pads at least once a month.
Depending on your riding style, they should generally be replaced every 500 to 1,000 km (310–620 miles). Aggressive riding and frequent city braking naturally accelerate wear.
Inspect the KuKirin G2 Master brake discs
The KuKirin G2 Master brake discs work continuously with the brake pads to provide smooth and powerful braking.
Every braking action generates friction and heat, causing gradual wear over time.
Inspect your brake discs for:
- deep grooves;
- excessive wear;
- warped rotors;
- cracks;
- blue or dark discoloration caused by overheating.
A damaged brake disc reduces braking efficiency and accelerates brake pad wear.
We recommend checking the discs regularly and replacing them after approximately 2,000 km (1,240 miles) or sooner if any of these issues appear.

Check the KuKirin G2 Master brake cables or bleed your hydraulic brakes
The KuKirin G2 Master may still be equipped with the original mechanical brakes or upgraded with hydraulic brakes.
If you’re using the original mechanical brakes
Brake cables transfer force from the brake levers to the calipers.
Over time, they may stretch or wear.
Typical symptoms include:
- slower brake response;
- soft brake lever;
- frayed cable;
- inconsistent braking.
Check cable tension regularly and adjust it whenever necessary.
If you’re using hydraulic brakes
Hydraulic brakes use mineral oil to transfer braking force.
If the system has never been bled, the 1,000 km service is the perfect time to replace the hydraulic fluid and remove any trapped air.
Signs that a brake bleed is needed include:
- soft brake lever;
- reduced braking performance;
- increased lever travel.
A proper brake bleed restores a firm, powerful, and consistent braking feel.

Check all KuKirin G2 Master steering column bolts
The steering column is one of the most heavily stressed parts of the scooter.
Acceleration, braking, and riding over rough terrain create vibrations that can gradually loosen bolts.
These bolts keep the steering assembly rigid and secure.
Loose bolts may cause:
- steering wobble;
- handlebar vibrations;
- steering play;
- knocking noises.
We recommend checking all steering column bolts every week, especially those located beneath the handlebars and around the folding mechanism.
Lubricate the KuKirin G2 Master steering joints
The various steering joints located between the steering column and the deck are constantly moving while riding.
Over time, the factory grease gradually disappears.
We recommend applying lithium grease to lubricate:
- steering bearings;
- pivot points;
- small cross brace;
- large cross brace;
- all joints connecting the steering column to the deck.
Proper lubrication reduces friction, eliminates squeaks, and keeps the steering smooth and responsive.
Inspect the KuKirin G2 Master steering bearings
The steering bearings allow the handlebars to rotate smoothly and precisely.
Over time, they can wear due to vibrations, moisture, and repeated impacts.
Common warning signs include:
- rough steering;
- tight spots while turning;
- steering play;
- clicking or knocking noises.
Inspect the bearings regularly and consider replacing them after approximately 1,500 km (930 miles) if any of these symptoms appear.

Check all KuKirin G2 Master lights
Your lighting system is essential for visibility and safety.
During the 1,000 km maintenance, inspect:
- front headlight;
- rear light;
- turn signals.
Faulty lighting significantly reduces visibility, especially at night or in poor weather.
Replace any defective lighting component immediately.
Inspect the KuKirin G2 Master tires
The KuKirin G2 Master tires are the scooter’s only contact with the road.
They directly affect:
- grip;
- braking;
- comfort;
- stability;
- riding efficiency.
Check tire pressure every week.
The recommended pressure is 3 to 3.5 bar (44–51 PSI).
While inspecting the tires, remove any embedded gravel, glass fragments, or other debris.
Every 500 km (310 miles), carefully inspect your tires for:
- cracks;
- cuts;
- uneven wear;
- bulges;
- deformation.
From around 1,000 km, consider replacing the tires depending on their condition.
Choose the tire that best matches your riding style:
- Semi off-road tire: the original all-around option.
- Road tire: quieter, smoother, and offers better grip on pavement.
- Off-road tire: ideal for trails, gravel, forests, and rough terrain.
- Self-sealing gel tire: semi off-road tread with enhanced puncture protection.
